 Cricket: India thrashed West Indies in the first Test match by an Innings & 140 runs

India defeated West Indies by an innings and 140 runs in the first test match of the present Test series between India and West Indies.

West Indies had won the toss and chose to bat first. In their innings they could score just 162 runs. They had been bundled out within 44.1 overs. Wrecker in chief had been the fast bowler Siraj who took their four wickets. 

In response India scored big and put on 448 runs for the loss of 5 wickets and declared their innings. Three of Indian batters had scored centuries. K.L.Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Dhruv Jurel scored their centuries.

Windies team collapsed again in their second innings and could score a paltry score of 146 runs before being all out in just 45.1 overs of the game. In this innings their nemesis had been the indomitable Ravindra Jadeja who took four wickets for just 54 runs in his 13 overs of bowling.

Ravindra Jadeja got the man of the match award for excellent performance with both bat and ball.

West Indies 1st innings: 146/10 (Alick Athanaze 38, Justin Greaves 24, Jayden Seales 22, Ravindra Jadeja 4/54, Siraj 3/31).
